robert told me the gist of Black Ghost, i was looking forward to it, hopefully he'll show up someplace someday, I absolutely love the design...... this is the first time i noticed the pacman ghost image, was that kept going forward???? His costume inspired my City of Heroes character- Black Eye, white costume, black guy....brawler type, you messed with him, you were gonna get a "Black Eye"!!!!
Great design! And your rendering, as ever, is superb! Though perhaps a name change should be considered, I offer: " The Spook" as a self-aware alternative. Instead of shying away from racial sensitivities, embrace them and use them to your advantage. Just a suggest...not that what I say has any weight here. Also just as a preemptive form of defense I am not a racist nor do I support any theories of racial superiority. I merely think this design could benefit from a less pedestrian name that still addresses the issue of our societies silly derogatory usages of words to define people. Maybe I'm over-thinking this. I get obsessed about things like this sometimes. I would be very interested to discuss this topic but this post may not be the proper forum. Thank you for any consideration you give this and my apologies for the lengthy explanations.
Ryan- Yeah, so, there's no way in hell I will change his name to "The Spook." Thanks, though.
If you think the character was created as some kind of social commentary, you're giving me too much(or not enough, depending on your point of view) credit.
The name came first, the character/design came second. It's half-jokey, sure, but within the context of the book(if it ever happens), the name will make sense, and have NOTHING to do with skin color.
Regardless of the name, I think your work is fantastic. And when (not if) this book does come out I will most certainly pick up a copy. I'm even more interested to see this character's development now.

Wow. This image is very striking as a character design. Is this a character of your own creation or a design for someone else?
It's mine.
Thanks. :)
heh... i remember this guy.

Terrific drawing and design. Great work?
Nice! Still waiting for you to do more with this guy, the pin-up was fun...but we need more!
I'm still waiting for this... -_-
I love it. I want it.
Love the simplicity.

Now get out of here, you racist. ;)
